Join us in celebrating the artist's first solo exhibition in Detroit featuring a series of new works on September 22 @ 6-9:00PM (running through November 3, 2012).
Exhibition Dates: September 22 – November 3, 2012
Opening Reception: Saturday, September 22, 2012 || 6 - 9:00PM
Eagles is presenting three solo exhibitions simultaneously in September that includes Krause Gallery in New York City (opening September 5) and the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago, IL (opening September 14). Eagles also currently has work on view at The University of Michigan Museum of Art as part of their "IN FOCUS" series highlighting recent acquisitions (on view through September 2).
In JORDAN EAGLES - BLOOD WORK, the artist presents a new series based on the various elemental qualities of blood as well as minimal works employing blood-soaked gauze stretched over white and black acrylic boxes, blood/copper mixtures, and overhead projectors for a site-specific, interactive blood-light installation. The works in this exhibition are designed to maintain the blood's natural colors, textures, luminosity and to expose its finite details. In the presence of light, the works vibrate iridescent reds, crimsons, oranges, browns, and black and cast shadows, projecting an intense glow onto walls. JORDAN EAGLES - BLOOD WORK provides a compelling multi-sensory experience that engages an allegory of death to life and themes of regeneration and the intangible connections between body, spirit, and nature.
Beginning September 27, 2012 open Thursday - Saturday, 1 to 6:00PM, and by appointment.
