Venice, August 28th, 2012: In the profusion of technical-linguistic crossings under way in contemporary art, Gervasuti Foundation proudly present, in the occasion of the pre-inauguration of the 69th Venice Film Festival, the international video-season “Screaming Screen”, dedicated to the video-art from all the word.
Animation works, three-D, experimentations, reinventions of traditional languages, personally presented by contemporary artists that express their creativity by means of video. Purpose of the season is to let know the most recent developments of the art related to the audio-video medium inviting to take part international artists, but, as usual, dedicating large attention on the youngest and without negletting the local energies.
The venture well integrates in the territorial vocation that GF holds, trying to create a network of local and international artists that interface actively with the town and the region, contributing to revitalize the innate creativity of Castello Alto, renowned to have been one of the most dynamic and productive part of Venice.
The first event, edited by Paola Fiorido, will introduce videos of three artists:
Roger Weiss, Virgilio Villoresi and Christian Zanotto.
Three artists that differentiate each other in styles, techniques and concepts, each one however with a marked aesthetics and a heavy visual and communicative power.
Paola Fiorido
Editor at Large Twill magazine - NY arts magazine;.
Critic and sex symbol, professes art criticism’s demistification through Behavioral Art.
Roger Weiss
Fashion photographer, artista, etnografo.
”I think that society creates and destroys models in the interest of a few. It’s our responsibility, as artists, to find or create alternatives”.
Virglio Villoresi
Animation's genius.
His work is characterized by a heavily handicraft approach, where everything is done by hand. His inspiration and curiosity has a wide range, from Polish animators, to American underground culture and progressive and experimental European cinema.
Christian Zanotto
Video artist.
He uses complex 3D animation techniques. An artistic suspended between eroticism and mysticism, between grace and damnation, between Eros and Thanatos. In his works, the clarity due to the choice of figuration is only apparent: his images are the result of a sophisticated intellectual game of visual meditations on the wonderful power of art to confuse reality with fiction.
Grace Zanotto
Artist and performer between art, anarchy and love.
She works in a leopard spots way inside the field of art.
At the edge of the edge, she works on the boundary line, promoting a positive form of deviance to rise in the Love of a harmonic creation between matter and spirituality.
