> DESCRIPTION

16thLINE Art Gallery is pleased to announce the second exhibition by Galerie Neu, one of the leading Berlin's galleries of modern art. The exhibition features works by Andreas Slominski, Cosima von Bonin, Keith Farquhar, Francesco Vezzoli, Cerith Wyn Evans.

PRIVATO is the third show, presenting important international galleries at 16thLINE, whose ambition is to make the best in contemporary art accessible to a Russian audience.

The opening of exhibition PRIVATO with Galerie NEU representatives and the artist Andreas Slominski will take place at 16thLINE on May 31, 2012, 8 pm. The next day, June 1, 4 pm, Andreas Slominski will give an artist talk, providing gallery visitors with the opportunity to discuss his work and life.
The exhibition will run until July 15, 2012.

The exhibition curator, art critic Mark Gisbourne (Great Britain) subsumes the concept of PRIVATO as follows: "The diversity of practices as here applied by Galerie Neu artists and represented in their second exhibition, carry forward the material conditions of objects seen under many different creative auspices. If the object is always evident then the psychical Lacanian abject (the means by which the subject is able to coordinate his/her desires and aims) remains in the uncertainties of meaning that many of the works represent. If this sounds a little too serious and a little worthy, it should not be forgotten that many of the artists here represented do it with a fair degree of humour, wit and panache. In each case they challenge conventional day-to-day perceptions of the world and suggest that there is a much richer texture and complexity at work around us in daily life".
