Galeria Fernández-Braso

Leopoldo Pomés (Barcelona, 1931) burst onto the scene in the mid-1950s with a revolutionary approach to portraiture, architectural photography and the capturing of scenes from daily life. Though better known to the public at large for his work in advertising, it is in his photographs that his consistent and uniquely-independent artistic talent is most apparent. As well as photographing genre scenes in the Barcelona of the time, he produced portraits of artists and leading cultural figures including Chillida, Tàpies, Picasso and Cortázar.
