Beate Sass – TALL TIMBERS PLANTATION PROJECT
Exhibition located at the LYONIA Environmental Center in Deltona, FL.

Tall Timbers Plantation Project is a personal photographic and oral history project about the few
tenant farmer dwellings still standing on plantations in north Florida and southwest Georgia, and honors
the important role their families played in the survival of the plantations after the emancipation.

Gallery Talk with Beate Sass
Saturday, April 28 at 2:00pm at the Lyonia Gallery in Deltona

Beate Sass will be discussing her photographic and oral history project about the former tenant farmers that lived on Tall Timbers Plantation in Tallahassee, Florida from the early to mid-1900’s and honors the important role their families played in the survival of the plantations after the emancipation.
Accompanying Beate in her talk will be Juanita Whiddon, the archivist from Tall Timbers Research
and Land Conservancy (formally Tall Timbers Plantation).
