> DESCRIPTION

For this group show at Waterstone Gallery, curators Martha Pfanschmidt and R. Keaney Rathbun have invited 9 artists to exhibit work with them using the bird as a stand-in for the human condition. The bird, long a symbol of strength, fraility, freedom and vulnerability, has been used by artists as a proxy for ideas of what it means to be mortal.
