69 Smith St Gallery is a contemporary Artist Run Initiative in the busy arts precinct of Fitzroy, Melbourne, supporting local artists for the last 13 years.
The gallery looks for opportunities to extend the skills of its members by providing exhibition space for individual or group shows and holding award shows. The gallery also supports two special interest groups, life drawing and photography. Exhibiting at ESP is another such opportunity.
As a contemporary group, the artists practice in a wide range of areas including painting and drawing, printing, photography ceramics, sculpture and artist books to mention a few.
The artists included in this exhibition are Irene Amorosi, Julie-anne Armstrong-Roper, Wendy Black, Bernadette Boundy, Aneta Bozic, Carolyn Cardinet, Kaitlyn Crist, Ben Laycock, Marianne Little, Merle Parker, Carol Rowlands and Anna Taifernopulos.
Artists include early career as well as established artists.
The works in this exhibition explore concepts of dialogue whether that be a dialogue with the inner self, the landscape, the city or the medium in which the art work is executed.
Come and see this exciting and diverse range of work in all mediums and practices creating a stimulating and exciting exhibition of current works from a Melbourne ARI.
