Ecocompatibelmente Fest

I have often heard of how artists want to take 'art' to the people, and I thought this would be an ideal way to do just that. Seeing that I live in a beautiful country like Italy, and given Italys history of Art, this seems to be the ideal place to hold such an event

On the 10th of June 2011 untill the 12th June 2011, I will be holding a workshop on natural expression. This will be an opportunity for people from all walks of life to come together and experience what it is like to express yorself  through body movement, paint, and clay.

 Friends of mine who own an Agriturismo in Valfabbrica, around 30km north of Perugia in the heart of Umbria and very close to Assisi, have offered to hold this workshop there. The accomodation is comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed. One is completely emersed in nature amongst rolling hills, pasture and forests. There will be six delicious meals served during the workshop and the opportunity to relax next to a swimming pool for those who desire to.

The programme wil be as follows:

We will meet on Friday afternoon, introduce ourselves and discuss the workshop programme, get to know each other and thereafter enjoy a meal together. Afterward an introduction into freeform dance and movement expression and the direct experience of this.

The next day, Saturday, will involve, in total, an hour of freeform movement to the sound of music, two and a half hours of painting expressing the moment on a group painting, two hours of clay work expressing sound and emotion, free time and sharing the days experience. Interspersed with this will be a colourful breakfast, lunch and dinner.

On Sunday, we will have an hour of freeform body movement with music with a different emphasis from the previous day. After breakfast, there will be a two hour session of action drawing (with a difference), lunch and then a two hour session of basic clay hand building technique followed by the creation of a personal signature pot or the option to work on and complete a previous painting. Then we shall have tea together, pack up and meet for a sharing of experience before saying goodbye.

The workshop is open to anyone from all walks of life although the minimum age requirement is 18 years. No previous experience in any creative art form is necessary, as the emphasis of the workshop lies in ‘natural expression’ rather than in the proficiency of any art form.

The price (290 euro) includes accomodation workshop fee and all art materials. And on completion of the workshop, you will be welcome to take your personal creations home with you.
