The project-driven series Concentrations focuses on the work of emerging artists. This pairing of projects by New York artist Matt Connors and Berlin-based Irish artist Fergus Feehily brings together two artists who produce complexly beautiful paintings that challenge traditions of abstraction and push limitations of the painterly surface. This will be the first museum exhibition for both artists and the inaugural installment in Concentrations’ thirtieth year.
On view from April 3 to August 14, 2011, Concentrations 54 is curated by Jeffrey Grove, the Hoffman Family Senior Curator of Contemporary Art.
Concentrations began in 1981 as part of the Dallas Museum of Art’s commitment to the work of living artists, with the goal of making the work of contemporary artists accessible to Dallas Museum of Art audiences while preserving the excitement of the work.
