> DESCRIPTION

What is the narrative potential of still photography? Working with the notion of sequence in mind, the artists in Still Films explore the effects of movement, tension and drama that occur when images come into direct contact with one another. How do images work? How does one derive meaning from them? How does the brain and imagination piece together visual information? Haunting, humourous and poetic photographic stories suggest alternative possibilities for reading and looking, while finding something real and personal within the realm of fiction.
