> DESCRIPTION

The title "enTrance" plays with the related meanings of both "trance": a sleeplike state (as of deep hypnosis) usually characterized by partly suspended animation with diminished or absent sensory and motor activity, a state of profound abstraction or absorption* and "entrance"" the means or place of entry, the act of entering*. The show "enTrance" provides a means for the viewer to enter into a state of absorption, suspension or examination while in turn, reflecting on the power of the hypnotic image in culture at large.
