Nervous Energy, curated by Stephanie Patton, is the first single channel video group exhibition held in the Side Gallery of the Acadiana Center for the Arts. This exhibition encompasses a diverse collection of video works by Lian Cheramie (Lafayette, LA), Stephen Collier (New Orleans, LA), Leigh Davis (New York, NY), Andrea Ferguson (New Orleans, LA), Kate Gilmore (New York, NY), David Greber (New Orleans, LA), Leslie Hall (Ames, IA) and Walter Pierce (Lafayette, LA). This distinct group of artists comes from various artistic backgrounds including music, performance, multi-media and installation-based art yet have all chosen the medium of video to execute specific projects.

These artists range from emerging, established to internationally known, such as Kate Gilmore whose work has been included in numerous prestigious exhibitions including the "2010 Whitney

Biennial at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Leslie Hall has achieved cult celebrity status with artistic projects and her band, Leslie and the LY's. Her band tours regularly and her music videos offer multiple layers of social commentary.

The video works shown in Nervous Energy address issues of relationships, death and self-reflection through various interpretations including humor, music and choreography. The videos in this exhibition often employ character development and share a heightened sense of awareness and anticipation.
