Baton Rouge Gallery is proud to host its annual live and silent auction, Kinetics 2010 on Friday, Nov. 5 from 6-10 p.m. Original works from more than 30 Baton Rouge Artist members, good and services from local businesses and much more is up for bid. All proceeds from Kinetics 2010 will go directly to furthering the gallery’s mission to provide a forum for the arts, especially for professional visual artists to exhibit their art while placing emphasis on education and enrichment, including multi-disciplinary arts programs.
Kinetics 2010 will once again be a truly multi-sensory affair with the music of The Jazz Nurse and Betsy Braud, a performance by The Cangelosi Dance Project, food provided by Chef Phillip Hart, and a special duet by poet Ava Haymon and musician Griffin Campbell.
In 1965, eight local artists formed Unit 8 Gallery, the artist cooperative gallery renamed Baton Rouge Gallery just one year later. Since that time, the gallery has been home to some of the premier names in local art including Ed Pramuk, James Burke, Caroline Durieux, Paul Dufour and others while showcasing some of the region’s best up-and-coming artists. Today, Baton Rouge Gallery boasts a roster of more than 50 artist members including painters, sculptors, photographers, printmakers and more.
Baton Rouge Gallery and its current artist members are proud to present the Kinetics live auction which will feature more than 30 original works. Bidding will open at $100 for every work featured in the live auction. Artists featured in the Kinetics live auction include: James Burke, Kelli Scott Kelley, Diane Hanson, Paulo Dufour, Van Wade-Day, Chris Johns, Dawn Black, Rosemary Goodell, Amy James, Anne Boudreau, Phyllis Lear, Randell Henry, David Horton, Brian Kelly, Ross Jahnke, Charles Barbier, Katherine Scherer, Judy Betts, Jenny Authement, Sarah Wiseman, Matt Morris, Reni Zietz, Paul Dean, Frankie Gould, Tom Richard, Ben Diller, Margaret Humphris, Theresa Herrera, David DuBose, Mary Claire Delony and Kathleen Lemoine.
The Kinetics 2010 silent auction, which will remain open during the entire evening, will feature a wide variety of original artworks, decorative items, gift certificates and much more with something for everyone.

Tickets to Kinetics 2010 are on sale now at Baton Rouge Gallery. Tickets are $15 for Baton Rouge Gallery members and $20 for non-members.
