The site depicted in Sasportas' video work is structured like a dream, a patchwork of photographs of various woods and handmade drawings. The time and place remain an enigma, and the twilight atmosphere only adds to the dreamlike feel. It seems that the video has no protagonist or plot, however, as he sits in the dark space, the viewer can shed the world of reality, suspend his doubt and feel as though his own gaze is the one guiding the camera lens.
The video features three main events composed of incidents taking place in the actual forest and of the points of view they are observed from. The camera scans the landscape slowly, like a hunter looking for his prey. A black stripe, a needle of sorts, passes across the screen in a monotonous rhythm, following the events, yet detached from them.
The video exhibited at the museum is a version edited especially for this space and for a frontal projection.
