> DESCRIPTION

In his first one-man show at the Jerusalem Fund Gallery, Adnan Charara uses his signature "cartoon" imagery to comment on humanity, injustice and the immigrant experience. His envelope collage paintings incorporate stamps, ink , drawings and old envelopes in a tale of losing and finding a sense of place. Found-object sculptures  showcase a whimsical sense of humor about the pretensions of humanity,  while his large acrylics on canvas explore the varied hue of the American ethnic multiplicity.
