Georgia Fee co-founded ArtSlant.com in 2006. She was formerly core faculty and gallery projects developer at the Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena, CA. While at the Armory Arts Center, she developed and implemented arts-based programs throughout Los Angeles from 1998-2004. Fee has exhibited and organized exhibitions in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Paris. She was on the board of Foundation for Art Resources from 1998-2000 and assisted with the Freewaves Media Festival in 2002. Georgia served as ArtSlant's Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief until her passing in December 2012. The Georgia Fee Artist/Writer Residency has been established in her memory.
Catherine Ruggles co-founded ArtSlant.com in 2006. For the past 25 years, she has been involved with the design, development and management of software products and companies including positions at Peter Norton Group, Symantec, Enfish and Web Putty. Her scope includes award winning products, experimental and front running methodologies, large and small-scale projects as well as an on-going involvement with emerging software development and big data modeling.
Natalie Hegert joined the ArtSlant team in 2007 as the San Francisco City Editor. She instituted the city-based editorial model for ArtSlant during her year and a half in this capacity. Natalie then moved to Paris and served as the Paris City Editor, as well as assisted the founders with developing ArtSlant's European operations. In 2011, Natalie took over the position as Editor for e-publications with ArtSlant as well as managing ArtSlant's Rackroom interviews. In 2013 she assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief at ArtSlant. Natalie has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with an area of concentration in Art and Social Change from Long Island University, and an MA in Art History and Theory from Hunter College, New York.
Sunny Tyrrell's background revolves around the technology world, first at Symantec Corp. where she set up and managed their international distribution for nine years. Later she became an independent agent for WebEx Technologies. Sunny has been with ArtSlant for five years and lives with her family in New Mexico.
Joel Kuennen has a background in English Literature, German, Critical Theory, Anthropology and Art History. His work has spanned such diverse practices as critical and creative writing, painting, installation, metalsmithing and digital video manipulation. He received a MA in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) in May, 2010. His thesis at the School of the Art Institute Chicago explored conditions of subjectivity as constructed through spatial relationships. He started writing for ArtSlant in 2010 and has published with Routledge, ID Press, Aint-Bad Magazine, and more. He currently lives in Chicago, IL.
