Action Jackson
by E-Slant Team

"Jackson", was painted over the Summer in London. Its pictorial assertiveness and scale are of an epic proportion and packed full of attitude!

This ambitious work visually advances many questions relating to the history and future of Painting with an assurity and confidence made by an artist in his prime.

Rolph's continuing artistic search within his chosen mediums (in this case Twinwall plastic, oil paint and collage) offer up a new dialogue between Modernist Art History and possibilities for Painting in the Twenty First Century, proposing new questions and carving a trace in the mind.

Danny Rolph is currently showing in prestigious group shows around Europe such as "Park Avenue" Southampton City Art Gallery, "Superstratum" Koraalberg Gallery, Antwerp, and in "Pure optic ray" at FRED, Leipzig.

He is represented in major internationalpublic and private collections including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Tate Gallery, London

I don't think that Rolph shows anything that can be classified as new for the 21st. C. as a matter of fact Geometric form was started by Picasso only he called it Cubism and from there it only continued to grow...The medium that he has chosen is interesting and that you can probably say is 21st.c.
