Ox-Bow: Two to Five Week Residencies
Fall Artists’ Residencies Ox-Bow, school of art and artists’ residency, is accepting applications for its Fall 2008 residency cycle.Ox-Bow has served as haven for artists for 98 years. Located in Saugatuck, Michigan and affiliated with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ox-Bow offers one and two-week intensives for aspiring and experienced artists. Concurrent with its 11-week academic program during the summer, and Ox-Bow’s fall residency cycle from September-October, offers residencies to emerging and established artists. Ox-Bow’s residency program is dedicated to immersion, commitment, freedom, and focus. Artists in Residence can use the protective nature of Ox-Bow’s landscape as a buffer from commercial demands that can often inhibit real experimentation and exploration. Artists can enjoy 24-hour access to studios in an inspirational setting, surrounded by a community of peers working in a variety of media. Artists in the fall residency cycle can enjoy a small, contemplative community of other artists in residence from around the world. It is also an ideal time for collaborative or group work. Additionally, classroom studios may be available for limited use. Cost: $100 per week (includes room and board and use of studios). Special Opportunity for Painters and Sculptors Applications for the fall Residency Program are due July 25, 2008. To download an application or to find out more about Ox-Bow at www.ox-bow.org.
