by
Renée Lotenero at PEVETO November 2nd, 2012 - December 15th, 2012
Posted 1/23/14

The exhibition is good, and congrats to the artist. A good friend of mine told me a rather disturbing story recently. He had been working with scott for years, and scott has helped him a great deal. Recently scott has not been able to sell as much art to pay his bills and has resorted to throwing events to sustain his gallery. Scott openly admits his failure, in his bathroom there is a painting that says 'BLACKBALL' which he says he got an employee to make in order to remind him how his ex-wife ha... [more]

Nick George, Jesse Kuroiwa at ROY G BIV Gallery November 2nd, 2013 - November 30th, 2013
Posted 11/16/13

For the month of November, ROY G BIV Gallery for Emerging Artists features an exhibition of photography by Jesse Kuroiwa and Nick George. Both artists challenge the possibilities of the photographic medium, either by questioning its claim to objectivity or by grounding artistic practice in its fundamental processes. Jesse Kuroiwa excavates unseen pasts in his photographs of barren American landscapes. He includes captions describing stories and events of Japanese internment in relation to the sett... [more]

STARS BENEATH THE CTE by Stephen Blackin Singapore Architect, March 2013"Every act of rebellion expresses a nostalgia for innocence and an appeal to the essence of being." –  Albert Camus Gezeitentümpel (Tidal Pools), Philipp Aldrup’s recent show at Objectifs, is a rebellion, albeit a quiet and humble one. In the current exhibition at the Therese A. Maloney Gallery, director and curator Dr. Virginia Fabbri Butera, by choosing this particular word as both the theme and the title, has opened a dual v...
