Scott openly admits his failure, in his bathroom there is a painting that says 'BLACKBALL' which he says he got an employee to make in order to remind him how his ex-wife ha... [more]

In Built to Kill, a short story by Venetian author Tiziano Scarpa, the protagonist is a frustrated architect from Venice. He feels so utterly constrained by the city’s architectural mandates to preserve a tourist-trapping golden past, that he starts killing tourists. Only he makes the murders look like suicides induced by Stendhal Syndrome, a psychosomatic disorder brought upon by an overdose of Renaissance beauty. A desperate attempt to prove that an urban space that doesn’t allow itself... [more]

The Revelation of Great: Jerome Soimaud The qualities of a great artist, I suppose, are always up for discussion in the art world. Maybe an artist or academician would analyze the work for technical skill: the balance of the composition, manipulation of materials and process, and its maker’s use of color and line, before... A Boy Scout Jamboree At Subliminal Projects http://www.laimyours.com/46608/a-boy-scout-jamboree-at-subliminal-projects/ " Duane Paul’s huge sculpture of various colored, fragmented scouts have similar effects. Paul’s piece hints at a less overt theme in the show, one that gets outside of the organization’s anti-gay agenda: minorities in American boy scouts have only existed on the margins. His colorful and quietly confrontational figures hit every element of the show–rainbows, black bodies, whit... [more]

By Jamie Solis Vintage films are known to have an intrinsic cult following. Maybe it’s because they remind us of the matte simplicity that’s fading in our digital society, or it could be the growing appreciation for classic features—when storylines were still unique and theatrics took fearless risks. Either way, we find ourselves attracted to old school cinema and the bold propaganda-esque designs that adorn their artwork. Regardless the reason for our fantastic obsession, posters from motion fi... [more]
