sheri marcus

encaustic (a durable medium that's a mixture of pigmented wax and a hardening agent) has a unique look and feel, lush, nuanced, and very sensual. it's beautiful when seen from afar, and as you get closer you discover delicate layering of transparent and and opaque blues, greens, yellow, orange, iridescent gold, pearl, copper and silver.

the polished surfaced has an exquisite silky feel, with a slight soft texture.

i've painted the edges of the cradled panel pewter. the painting has a clean contemporary look and must hung unframed.

encaustic is a fascinating medium that i know you'll fall in love with, as i did the second i laid my hands on it!
