Osage Gallery was established in Hong Kong in 2004 and now has major exhibition spaces in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore. Osage represents some of the most outstanding artists in Asia and works closely with a variety of internationally respected curators, critics and art historians to present and promote art that address fundamental global issues.
Osage is Asia’s largest gallery group with more than 40,000 square feet of exhibition space under management. The size and reach of our gallery spaces gives us the ability to operate on a truly regional basis. We believe that we can best represent artists by having a presence in a number of major cities in Asia. The artists benefit by having much greater exposure in different markets and wider audiences for their work and audiences benefit when the artists are presented consistently and in the best possible way.
By being active in different centres Osage is able to develop much closer relationships with clients. The spaces are all managed by art industry professionals who genuinely believe in putting the client first, strive continually to achieve superior quality in their work, and maintain the highest ethical standards in their relationships with artists and clients.
The Osage exhibition philosophy explores four broad themes. Art of Ideas aims to bring to the art world new voices, new vision, new ideas and new styles. Art of Communication aims to present art that spurs the imagination and which works at a level of intensity that offers various and sometimes even radical experience. Art of Understanding includes work that at times addresses local and national concerns, work that addresses universal themes that go beyond mere national concerns and work that celebrates diversity and difference. Art of Engagement aims to present work that is a celebration of the achievements of humanity together with its limitations and failures.
The exhibition programs, education programs and outreach activities all provide a platform for artists and audiences to engage with cultural and creative ideas. The exhibitions are supported by a publications program which helps make the art work more accessible to a wider range of audiences.
Osage is also committed to arts promotion and development. We present and promote experimental and conceptual work and important independently curated exhibitions that address global issues and a range of arts education activities.
