> DESCRIPTION
Xu Hongfei was born in Yangjiang City, Guangdong. Now he is the dean of Guangzhou Sculpture School, country-level artist and member of Chinese Artists Association. His fat lady series expresses an aesthetic attitude different from the mass; with “fatness” and “beauty” putting together, he thinks that the fat human are more suitable to the Sculpture volume and stereoscopic space. By the aesthetic habits of the mass, “fatness” is by the edge of ugly; however, Xu finds the happiness and inspiration in the life of the fat ones. And all these factors help to build a lovely imagine, lively personality and humorous style for the fat ladies.

This exhibition is names “Civilian epic” and it is just the careful regard for the “civilian” and “daily life” of Xu. Simple and common daily routines are endowed with stage feelings and theatricality; trifles can be “epic” too. By means of this exhibition, the viewer can watch the freeze frames and remodeling of different life storytellers through the Xu Hongfei style humor sight glass from different angles.
