> DESCRIPTION

With recent advances in technology, we become more and more familiar with interactive design and works. Many devices and gadgets found in daily life are equipped with interactive interfaces and A.I. technology; and various possibilities can be created between human and machines or machines and real-time data, which could further develop the communication between human and machines, and that of human themselves to another level.

INTER-ACT! features five international media artists who express their creative concepts and explorations in interactivity through their artworks. Taiwanese artist Scottie Huang demonstrates the diversity in forms in his work “Portrait of a Dandelion”. While Chuang Chih-Wei, also from Taiwan, explores the interactive relationship between body movements and light through his work “Surfing on the way of Light”. Hong Kong LED artist, Teddy Lo specializes in using light as his creative medium and created a series of data visualization sculptures in 2011 one of which - “Alarm of Hue” is shown at this exhibition. Coming from Spain, the work “Reactable”, a fruit of labour from many years of research, is a large music synthesizer that allows multiple players to perform. Japanese creative group TEAMLAB’s “Media Block Chair” is a series of glowing square boxes inviting the audience to explore the multiple possibilities in interaction and integration.

By gathering new experiences, these five media artists utilize their creativity to bring changes to the roles of both the artists and viewers. INTER-ACT! invites the public to participate in this unique experience, bridging the audience and media art through interactive technology and fun.
