Osage Gallery is now calling for donations of used pillows, with or without pillow cases, for the artwork The Wall by Ringo Bunoan, as part of the exhibition POETICS OF MATERIALITY, at Osage Hong Kong 4 Jan - 4 Feb 2014.
To the Filipino artist, pillows catch what leaks from our minds, via our mouths and eyes as we sleep. They are the sites of physical rest and rejuvenation, as well as cradles of our ideas, memories, nightmares and dreams.
Each individual pillow serves as a personal archive of accumulation of sleep, or subconscious saliva; The Wall thus produced functions as a group portrait of all these interior substances.
