Active art advisory, appraisal and curatorial firm in New York City is seeking an intern for Fall 2011. The internship is flexible at 3-4 days a week. Intern will work on a large scale collection management project including hands-on experience working with art market research, database management and cataloguing over 2,000 modern, postwar and contemporary art works from top private collections. The intern will work closely with the Director of the firm, who is also a professor at NYU and the Sotheby’s Institute. He or she will gain practical experience in the analysis of the art market, valuation of art, and the management of large private collections.
Qualifications: current college or graduate student with a strong focus and interest in fine art or visual cultural studies. Candidates should be extremely detail oriented, highly organized, computer savvy, self-motivated and able to work independently.
Course credit for internship possible.
