Inspiration for art is everywhere, but it's particularly acute in nature. Form and function are found in everyday objects and natural settings. The shapes, colors, textures of nature, so many different approaches to life - inspire me to be creative in art and in my life. Painting and drawing is a doorway to see more uniquely, and a way to share these visions with the world. Rather than painting a landscape on a canvas, I aim to express a spirit with a sense of design. In order to capture it’s richness, I work on a number of paintings concurrently. This allows me to develop forms, texture, shade and an overall mood with the other works in the series. The continuity of elements deepens the cohesion within the series.
