Eyeporium Gallery Exhibition Opening
“Lush Life” by Joey Wozniak
Opening Night is Friday, February 5, 2010
Eyeporium Gallery presents Joey Wozniak’s sumptuous paintings that combine the cool allure of abstraction with figurative images created with hand-cut stencils. Using lavishly applied oil paints, he pulls, scrapes and layers saturated color fields, then meticulously populates the paintings with figures of forgotten gods, misty cities and fantastic creatures. His vocabulary is such that he speaks to both past history and the present moment in these very lush works.
