Robert Abbott Sengstacke also known as Bobby Sengstacke has been a photographer for 52 years. Because of his affiliation with the preeminent newspaper, The Chicago Defender, (his family, the Abbott-Sengstacke’s, have been owners of the preeminent Chicago African American newspaper), Bobby has had access to both celebrities and every day folk and has produced a significant body of photographic work. He will exhibit select examples from the 1960's and 1970's during his solo exhibition at Chicago State University. The artist will be present at the opening on January 27 to speak about his photography.
