> DESCRIPTION

David Buckingham's working method is aggressive. His art often ends up as a parallel to same. He goes out to the desert and the industrial areas of Los Angeles, and scavenges for metal from dead cars, machinery, and signage. Reconstituting this beautifully patinated steel, he cuts and welds it into his signature button-pushing aesthetic. Nothing is sacred, and usually ends up being a sex, drugs, and rock and roll kind of thing. Of course with art more than thrown in. He has a fondness for vintage design, and often his 'signs' look like they've been cherry picked off the top of a spire
advertising whatever.... Buckingham is also a great colorist, and employs car culture indirectly, as much of the material comes abandoned autos.... Another great symbol of America's past and present.
