Henrik Drescher: nervenet

OCT 2 – NOV 14│Crown Center Gallery

Reception:  Friday, October 2│5:30-7:30 PM | Artist, Henrik Drescher will present a slide lecture at 7pm and be available to answer questions about his work.

Henrik Drescher, a well-known editorial illustrator whose work has appeared in may publications, including New York Times and Rolling Stone, is also a prolific creator of notebooks and limited edition books, from which his commercial work grows. The exhibition nervenet is an essentially extension of his notebook work, the armature is built from discarded wire picked up in the streets of China and North America. The imagery is based on notebook drawings, old photographs and other printed ephemera. The installation examines the connections between people ideas and history, provoking intense introspection: how much of home lies within? How much personal meaning do we derive from our context?
