> DESCRIPTION

Jane Fulton Alt, a Chicago-based artist and clinical social worker, witnessed the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans in August 2005, and used her photography as both a coping mechanism and a way of helping the cause.  This unprecedented natural disaster is captured in the approximately 35 color photographs presented in the exhibition, following the recent publication of her book on the same subject – Look and Leave: Photographs and Stories of New Orlean’s Lower Ninth Ward.
