VOYAGER

Project for the 4th BUCHAREST BIENNALE
originally created for the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, 2009

Based on a personal experience through the years of transition of life, during the journey to the U.S.A., occurred after the changes in Eastern Europe since1989.

Aesthetically refers to artists as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Christo, as well as, Pink Floyd's "The Wall" conception of art. This is an interpretation of the Journey and Transformation theme. Nothing is steady, everything is in moving/changing balance. Includes uncounted number of works in various techniques. Used materials are liquid stains and paints on cardboard, paper and canvas. Symbols, writhing, remarks, poetry on some antagonistic sides of life - economic, social, and cultural are depicted.

Video projection next to the work, directly on the floor in the darken room, showing the process of creating the piece (including the drawing and the packing), seen from above the artist. This will create a feeling of deepness and instability. The piece will be created, using a standard pallet press machine, which will compact the individual works in one united piece.
