The Irish American Heritage Center and Windy City Arts present the annual art exhibit of the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-en) and the Mexican Day of the Dead.

"Samhain/Day of the Dead...thinking about Persephone" is a group show that compares the festivals of Samhain and the Day of the Dead. Both festivals participate in the birth, death and resurrection cycle. This year's exhibit again includes similar traditions of other cultural groups, including the Greek culture.

Programing at the Irish American Heritage Center is supported, in part, by generous grants from the The Illinois Arts Council, City Arts grants, from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Illinois Humanities Council.

Presented as part of Chicago Artists Month 2008.
