On April 10th, The Silver Room is proud to present the expressive visual works of Puerto Rican storyteller, Sandra Antongiorgi. For this special occasion, we will provide live music, complimentary wine and refreshments.
The Silver Room is a firm believer in all things creative and making lifestyle worthwhile. Art is a crucial element in this belief system. In our gallery space we exhibit new works of uniquely talented local artists in a range of mediums including painting, illustration, mixed-media, photography, sculpture, video & sound. Our exhibitions rotate monthly. April marks the arrival of Sandra Antongiorgi.
THE WORD ACCORDING TO SANDRA:
Sandra I. Antongiorgi is a visual artist who draws upon life experiences, fragments of society, mysticism and spirituality to tell a story. Her art focuses on issues of self empowerment, self image, and social neglect to create a colorful and whimsical world filled with curious characters and edgy--sometimes controversial--imagery.
As a muralist, Sandra’s work adorns Chicago neighborhoods emphasizing on cultural, historical and educational topics/themes. She’s taken her mural experience to the Chicago Public School classrooms through her After School Matters classes.
Sandra is a singer and songwriter whose performed throughout Chicago and Las Vegas. Her accomplishments include opening for singer Wynonna Judd, and a song featured on the Latin Dragon movie soundtrack.
Additionally, Sandra’s passion is in the arts and philanthropy. She has created and implemented music and art initiatives rooted in diversity which serve as models for programs at schools and community centers at a national level. She is a Tres co-founder.
Sandra was born in Puerto Rico and currently resides in Chicago.
