Valerie Carberry Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings and works on paper from the 1940s by Judith Rothschild. The exhibition is comprised of four major oil paintings and a group of small-scale gouaches and collages, many of which have never before been exhibited.
A brilliant colorist with a keen eye for composition, Rothschild gained success as a young artist in New York in the 1940s. Firmly rooted in the order of Cubism, but painted with the vitality of an emergent talent, Rothschild's paintings and collages retain a freshness in rhythm with contemporary sensibilities worthy of reexamination.
A full color brochure of the exhibition will be available from the gallery.
