> DESCRIPTION

The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art invites you to an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian artists. Artists in Ukraine generally received very traditional training that did not incorporate current art world trends. During the disintegration of the Soviet Union leading to the Independence of Ukraine, the artists in Ukraine were already discovering a new freedom of expression. Every artist responded differently to this new artistic freedom in their diverse styles, subject matters and techniques.

Artists in this exhibit come from different regions of Ukraine and their works reflect different styles and media.

Participating artists: Oleksander Babak, Oleksander Dubovyk, Serhiy Mikhnovsky, Roman Romanyshyn, Serhij Savchenko, Oksana Stratijchuk, Katarina Svirhunenko, Mykola Zhuravel.
