MCA: Family Day: Experimentation
Saturday, January 12, 2012, 11am
Free for families with kids 12 and under
Family Days take place every second Saturday of the month from 11 am to 3 pm at the Museum of Contemporary Art from October to May. Activities are appropriate for all ages unless otherwise noted. The MCA invites families to learn about the art of our time through hands-on art activities, scavenger hunts, Look & Learn stations, and more. This January, inspired by avant-garde artist and composer John Cage, experiment with sound and movement as you creatively test ways to make installations and other interactive artworks.
Part of an ongoing exhibition series featuring iconic works from the MCA Collection, MCA DNA: John Cage is presented on the occasion of the artist’s centenary year. It traces the fruitful and decades-long relationship between the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and this celebrated artist.
