Culture Catalysts at the Museum of Contemporary Art is a monthly series that provides a platform for Chicago-based influencers involved with art, cuisine, music, fashion, literature, and to share about their work. The December event features Paul Cowan, who’s Chicago Works exhibition is currently on view at the MCA. He works in a variety of medias and is a recent graduate of the MFA program at the University of Illinois Chicago. In his works, Cowan questions the traditional and cherished ideals of painting that stripped of content, emphasizes on the marks, lines and squiggles as a gesture of urgency and purpose.
