July 10 - August 16, 2008
As we face times of social change and spiritual crisis, traces of EXPRESSIONISM in
art can be found globally. Accordingly, Murphy Hill Gallery hosts its summer show "EXPRESSIONISM:
AN INVITATION TO THE EXOTIC".
A group of five contemporary artists - Steve Fisher,
David H. Jenkins, Laura Gilmore, Jeffrey Leving and John Whitney - explore unique art
forms that border on highly personal experiences and visionary states of post modern life.
Distinctive artistic styles depict subject matter through distortion and expressive
use of color. From each artist's interpretation, we are awakened to the value of experiencing
nature in its raw integrity.
