Batavia Il – Water Street Studios has succeeded in bringing together a trifecta of great art – juried gallery art, student art and public art – for its Second Anniversary Show. The entire building, including the loading dock and studios, will contain a visual display for the art-loving public. The show’s opening is Friday, September 30 from 6-10 p.m.
"We received a lot of great entries for this anniversary show," said Water Street Studios Gallery Director Steven Lockwood. "So many, of such high quality, that we decided to give Honorable Mention awards to ten artists,” he said. Guest juror for this show is Corey Postiglione, Associate Professor of Art History + Fine Art, Columbia College, Chicago. He will be in attendance at the opening to announce “Best of Show” at 7 p.m. According to Postiglione, “In all my years I have been jurying shows, this is some of the most accomplished work I have seen in both aesthetic concept and execution.”
Honorable Mention artists include Eric Akcevak, Brad Pogatetz, Eunyoung Suh, Kari Kraus, Tim Kowalczyk, Jen Evens, Rita Grendze, Hanspeter Ricklin, Ana Zanic, and Sharon Sychta.
