Eyeporium Gallery presents Joey Wozniak’s sumptuous paintings that combine the cool allure of abstraction with figurative appliqués created with hand-cut stencils. Using lavishly applied oil paints, he pulls, scrapes and layers saturated color fields, then meticulously populates the paintings with floral images – both real and stylized.

ABOUT JOEY WOZNIAK:
Joey attended the School of the Art Institute in the ‘70’s where he was strongly influenced by his instructor, Ray Yoshida, a contributor to a style known as Chicago Imagism. For the last 15 years Joey’s preferred medium has been oil painting. He exhibits primarily in the Midwest as a solo artist as well as part of a Chicago group known as the Crazy 8 – self-proclaimed creators of wild art.
