THE COLORBORATION PROJECT
Gallery location 2515 N. Milwaukee Ave, Logan Square
14-24 March 2011, the Dutch painter Tali Farchi will once again join Michigan painter Royce Deans in Chicago along with The Phantom Gallery Network for their latest collaboration. They will create an open studio and live exhibition when they bring their unique approach to the creative process to a Logan Square storefront. The two have designed The Colorboration Project as a ten day long synergistic art experiment where different disciplines will improvisationally drive the art to new and unknown destinations.
Farchi and Deans have collaborated with improvisational and classical musicians over the years in Europe, Israel, Canada and the USA. The Colorboration Project is a new endeavor to organize an intense period of time to create a body of painted work that is attached to a specific place, in this case Logan Square. They intend to do this at the very grassroots level and are looking for local musicians to add local flavors to the mix.
The Colorboration Project will consist of nightly individual experiments that will explore the depths of what lengths the disciplines or painting and music can push each other as ensembles are formed of musicians and painters. All genres of music will be considered. Each night from 7-10 a different musician or group will share the moment as they play a musical landscape and the painters answer with colorful harmonies.
