> DESCRIPTION

Donald Fels crafts beautiful collages from historical Sears catalogs to turn the page to a bygone era of merchandising.

Based in Chicago, Sears, Roebuck and Co. had an enormous presence in the lives of early-20th century Americans, supplying every imaginable product from its mammoth catalogue to the nation’s farms, small towns, and cities. In many ways, Sears’ mail-order shopping paved the way for contemporary internet shopping and lifestyle marketing.
