> DESCRIPTION

Voyage To The Origin is a collaboration between Columbia College students in the Theater & Science and Math Departments. The students from the Vertebrate Paleontology Honors course will be acting as research partners to the Set Design students as they develop 4 three-dimensional environments that will present imagined storage spaces of the HMS Beagle.  In addition the Paleontology students will be developing and creating exhibit labels explaining the conclusions Charles Darwin drew from his research as the naturalist aboard the Beagle from 1831 – 1835.

Voyage To The Origin not only serves as an innovative platform to present the ideas and findings of Darwin but also offers a glimpse into the sense of possibility, mystery and excitement that was contained in the discoveries of this now famous voyage.
