Lecture and Gallery Walk with Amy Mooney
In conjunction with our new exhibition Forget Me NOT, Amy Mooney, Associate Professor of Art History, Visual Culture and Critical Theory at Columbia College, will present a lecture on the aesthetics and social expectations of the portrait.
Dr. Mooney will incorporate various examples that are included in the exhibition, including Ike Morgan with Shepard Fairey and Lee Godie with Cindy Sherman. Her lecture will touch upon themes of identity politics and how this is connected to the practice - as well as definition - of itinerant, self-taught and outsider artists.
This event is free and open to the public.
