> DESCRIPTION

Tony Davis is a narrator of urban mythologies. His colorful renderings of street characters in flamboyant garb draw inspiration equally from comic books and the artist’s own checkered past. The effect is a fanciful, even romantic perspective on the underside of urban life. The Rogue’s Gallery features drawings in ink and marker on paper, executed with an eye for nostalgia and a flair for fantasy.

Located in the Chicago Cultural Center, Project Onward is the Department of Cultural Affairs' studio program for artists with special needs. The program supplies studio space, art supplies, and professional guidance to over 30 adult artists living with mental and developmental disabilities.
