In Howard Fonda’s words:
“I particularly like the impact that galleries sitting outside the traditional commercial model have. The community is hungry, discerning and well educated. I think this leads to more productive and honest conversations about art objects and their role in society. It’s not so bogged down with the trends, commercialism and "machine" of the coasts. I was particularly excited to show with Austin and was honored he asked me to participate. He and I have been talking about each other’s work for a number of years. It only makes sense that we would eventually show together…. I don't think there are any over-riding aesthetic issues that bring the work together. I think it is more of an attitude with us– sometimes non-chalet, sometimes smug, and perhaps, sometimes pretensions. But at the same time, I think we are both intellectually driven and highly attuned to material presence and form.”
