> DESCRIPTION

New Deal prints and graphics spread the word for american unity and survival and put artists to work through the Works Progress Administration (WPA).  The artists not only explored new subjects with a "social viewpoint" but gave fine art status to printmaking by creating the Silk Screen Unit of the WPA/FAP (Federal Art Project) and promoted ublic interest in this new medium.
