The Tate Gallery in partnership with Le Méridien hotels, have recently released a fantastic art history web series #UnlockArt. Over eight months, eight important contemporary art themes and issues in today’s art world will be explored through short films narrated by the likes of Alan Cumming, Sally Phillips and Jemima Kirke. The films are cheeky and brief, but filled with insightful information that even art history majors will find useful.
An impressive and eye-catching website is built around each video’s theme, highlighting examples from the Collection of the Tate Gallery. This is how a corporate museum partnership should be done, it is both educational and entertaining, and seamlessly ties back the the Tate’s mission “to promote public understanding and enjoyment of British, modern and contemporary art.”
